About the house

Le Stabbielline is a very beautiful restored rustic farmhouse which sleeps eight people in four bedrooms. There are original stone floors, ancient oak beams, pretty furnishings, classic Italian oil paintings, a large and well equipped kitchen/dining room and a stunning and very large swimming pool with sun loungers (open May to the end of September). The garden is large and comprises planted areas with rosemary, lavender and wisteria as well as fig and olive trees and a huge sloping lawned area.

Downstairs, there is a large double bedroom with an ensuite shower room, another bathroom, a huge sitting room with a large open fireplace and the kitchen/dining room.

Upstairs, there are two double bedrooms, a twin bedroom, a bathroom and a second sitting room with a TV. We also have a travel cot for babies.

There is a large outdoor pergola to eat under in summer, a second smaller vine-hung pergola with a table and a large 12-metre swimming pool with both deep and shallow ends (perfect for new swimmers as well as those who want to dive in for some exercise). The pool has a large pergola too, which can provide lots of welcome shade. There is also an outdoor table tennis table.

Visitors love the peace and space. Our nearest neighbours live some way up the hill. You’re more likely to see the wild boar and deer that roam near the house, as well as beautiful butterflies, lizards and fireflies (in June) or perhaps even a porcupine.

We saw lots of deer, a family of wild board, a hare racing from our headlights, foxes sitting in a field, bats sipping water from the pool (during a night time dip). We also ate lots and had a fabulous time in this beautiful spot…’ Tessa

‘What a wonderful space and place’. Jo and Max
